The Wireless USB Reference Design Kit
The Wireless USB Reference Design Kit from Focus Enhancements is a turnkey solution that enables customers to start volume production of high performance Certified Wireless USB dongles and hubs. The Reference Design Kit is based on the single System-in-a-Package UWB solution (TT1013) which embeds all of the most critical components needed for a high-performance wireless USB platform. The Reference Design Kit supports all data rates defined by WiMedia (53, 80, 106, 160, 200, 320, 400 and 480Mbps) and supports operation in the first 8 frequency bands defined by WiMedia.
Enhanced Performances
Focus Enhancements’ Reference Design Kit for Certified Wireless USB is based on the single System-in-a-Package TT1013 solution which guarantees enhanced performance for Wireless USB applications.
The TT1013 supports an extended set of frequencies (3.1 GHz to 7.4GHz), enabling operations in WiMedia Band Groups 1 through 3. The support of up to 8 nonoverlapping bands (FFI channels) makes Focus Enhancements’ Reference Designs the best choice for products that are to be deployed in dense environments (where a higher frequency diversity can guarantee more bandwidth to be dedicated to each cluster) as well as in world regions with restrictive regulations.
TT2201: Host Wire Adapter (USB Dongle)
The TT2201 is an external dongle which plugs into any USB 2.0 port in a PC and operates directly off the USB bus power. Its size is similar to a USB flash drive and the low-cost design uses the single System-in-a-package TT1013 solution. Thanks to the HWA driver running on the host PC, no changes are required to existing class drivers or applications. The design includes a high-performance UWB antenna, serial flash memory, LEDs, and all necessary power regulators.
TT2301: Multi-port Device Wire Adapter (Wireless HUB)
The TT2301 is a 4-port DWA similar in size to a USB hub which provides wireless functionality to existing USB devices. Peripherals already supporting USB 2.0 connect to any of the four ports of the TT2301 and are connected wirelessly to any PC having a compliant Certified Wireless USB radio. Thanks to the DWA driver running on the PC, no changes are required to existing peripheral drivers or applications. Besides four Type A connectors, the TT2301 hosts one Type B connector, which is used for one-time host association. The TT2301 design is based on the single System-in-a-package TT1013 solution and implements the full WiMedia Beaconing Protocol (Self-Beaconing WUSB device), ensuring solid performances for the entire cluster. |
