The Focus Enhancements Ultra-Wideband Evaluation System provides a practical way to qualify and test the performance of Focus UWB radio modules in typical user environments. The evaluation unit’s radio specifications are identical to the Focus UWB mini-PCI Radio Module to ensure it accurately simulates real-world conditions.
The UWB evaluation unit contains two PCI slots: A mini-PCI UWB radio module featuring Focus Enhancements UWB technology occupies the first slot. A Focus Gemini MPEG decoder card uses the second. The internal host processor configures and manages the UWB radio and is also responsible for controlling data input and output through the evaluation unit’s user interface (UI).
Audio outputs include:
2-channel audio-out
S-PDIF
Testing requires two or more UWB evaluation units. Users can test multiple combinations of media access controller (MAC) rates and PHY modes.

To configure the Focus evaluation system, users connect their PC to the Ethernet port on the back of the evaluation unit. This allows users to configure the system and conduct tests using an easy-to-use interface. Users can stream video or transfer files from the internal hard disk to another evaluation unit via the UWB radio.
